Good news to China Unicom’s subscribers in Shanghai following introduction of a more consistent, higher quality and faster mobile broadband services, thanks to proactive troubleshooting and faster customer support. Nokia Siemens Networks’ real-time traffic monitoring and analysis tool was implemented in April 2010 ahead of the Shanghai World Expo and has since increased service quality.
“We were looking for an effective radio traffic monitoring tool with zero-error tolerance to ensure service quality for our customers during Shanghai Expo,” said Hou Wenjun, optimization manager, Shanghai Unicom. “Nokia Siemens Networks’ platform provided a comprehensive view over service quality over the last mile to our customers. It guarantees fast troubleshooting and a far quicker response to customer issues, and has increased our service quality.”
“The launch of 3G services has intensified competition in China and operators like China Unicom are keen to capitalize on the growing data services market,” said Cheng Gang, head of China Unicom customer business team, Nokia Siemens Networks. “Network quality and customer satisfaction in service quality are extremely crucial differentiators in such an evolving scenario, and our offering allows operators’ to truly live up to end-user expectations for service quality.”
Nokia Siemens Networks’ end-to-end solution helps to identify capacity problems and support network optimization. Based on its Traffica platform, the tool identifies network problems and service quality issues in minutes and resolves them far faster, helping the operator to increase revenue. Before deploying the solution, it could take hours or days to identify and resolve certain problems. Nokia Siemens Networks’ system uses key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the actual quality of every service offered by China Unicom in real-time. If quality worsens, staff can act on that, before services or related network components fail.
