Thunderbird 3.1 Beta 2 Now Available

Thunderbird 3.1 Beta 2, is now available for download,  for testers, extension developers, and other people who are curious to follow the development of the next release of Thunderbird.

According to the statement made available on Mozilla’s website, Thunderbird 3.1 Beta 2 includes initial versions of new features that build on the current release, Thunderbird 3. Further interim releases will be released as we work towards a major new release of Thunderbird continues.

The new release of Thunderbird 3.1 Beta 2 which has been built on top of the Gecko 1.9.2 platform and does not represent the final product. It includes the following changes:

  • New quick filter toolbar.
  • New migration assistant.
  • Improved support for Personas.
  • Several fixes to improve upgrading from Thunderbird 2.
  • Several design improvements and corrections to the interface.
  • Stability and memory improvements.
