Cakewalk®, Intel, and OurStage.com Launch the "Superstars" Songwriting Competition

Cakewalk, the world's leading developer of powerful and easy to use products for music creation and recording, Intel Corporation, and the preeminent online community-powered, new music discovery site, OurStage.com, have come together to launch another exciting competition for songwriters and music producers. The "Superstars" songwriting competition targets artists to submit original music in six music genres: Rock, Pop, Country, Singer-Songwriter, Urban, and Latin. All submissions will be judged by fans of Intel's Facebook page with 31 prizes from which, five winners will emerge from each genre and one Grand Prize to be awarded. More than $50,000 are up for grabs including Intel® Core™ processor-based computers, Cakewalk SONAR Producer Software, V-Studio 100 & V-Studio 20 recording solutions, and promotion to the millions of OurStage.com and Intel fans. The Grand Prize is tagged at $10,000 cash that can be used to record an album, tour the country, fix up the band van, pay the rent, or anything else a "Superstar" would need.

"After last years' successful 'Your Music Anytime, Anyplace' songwriting competition, we are very excited to expand the breadth of competition and prizes. There is just so much talent to be discovered and this is an excellent vehicle for artists to make an impact," said Robin Kelly, Cakewalk's Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

"At Intel we are inspired by the music and art that creative people can make using technology," said John Galvin, director, Intel Partner Marketing Group. "As sponsors of tomorrow, we are eager to support a competition like this that will help showcase emerging new artists and reward them with technology that will empower them to be even more creative."

Entrance in the "Superstars" competition is free but is limited to residents of the United States.
