Internet Scams - Internet Lies

 Author: wcweeks

It seems that the scams and lies on the Internet are growing exponentially.  Is it just me, or does it seem that way to you too?  The scams and lies I notice the most are in the area of earning money online.  It seems that the few truly honest ways of making a bit of money on the Internet have been totally overshadowed by the scams and lies.  Where are we heading?

Perhaps I notice it more than the average person does because I am an Internet Marketer.  As such I spend a great deal of time on the Internet and am very interested it what others are doing to create Internet income.  I have looked at almost every "Internet Income Opportunity" that is out there, and I will tell you that at the low end 90% of them are pure trash.  They are just plain garbage whose real purpose is to separate you from some of your hard-earned cash.

Why are there so many scams and lies out there?  Well, it has got be because they work.  It has got to be that there a lot of people out there who will believe the claims no matter how outrageous they are and will send in their hard earned money.  It has got to be that we are living in an age of unbelievable gullibility. Perhaps that is in part due to the present very high unemployment and the general economic turmoil we are living through.

As bad as things are economically, or as bad as they get, that is not a good reason to put aside good common sense, is it?  Come on folks, you have seen the promotions; Make $3 Trillion in just 2 hours giving away free eBooks, Homeless unemployed man makes $40,000 in his first week selling pencils, If you will just recruit 2 people you will make $100,000 a month for the rest of your life and we will recruit them for you!  I know you have seen them too.

It seems a bit silly for me to feel the need to say this, but people; THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH!  Think about it for a minute. If someone stumbled on to a way to make $40,000 a week, do you really think he/she would tell you?  Why would they?  If your answer is they just want to help, they why do they charge for the information? Why are all of those people out there trying to get YOUR money?  Could it be they are really scammers and/or liars?  Are they just modern day snake oil salesmen?  I think so, and my best recommendation for you is to be very carefully in parting with your money.  Investigate, investigate, Investigate.

OK, now that I have said that, and it sort of seemed like a rant, but it's really important, I want to say that there are some honest Internet enterprises you can get into and make some money. But, you will have to do a little bit of work.  As I said earlier, "there is no free lunch."  If you are not willing to invest a little time, and maybe a little money, they stay away from Internet Income Opportunities.  If you are willing to do what it takes, then there are some legitimate opportunities out there. You just need to locate them and decide which one is for you.

My five rules for investing in an online money making opportunity:

1. It must require a very low investment.
2. It must offer a real ability to earn back your initial investment in the first two or three weeks.
3. There must be no unreasonable recruiting requirement. You should not expect to earn your income off of friends and family.  This pretty much rules out all MLM.
4. The business plan should NOT be based on a Pyramid scheme, a Matrix program or a Gifting Plan. I am not saying no such plans are legitimate, but there is so much dishonesty in those areas that I recommend you just stay away.
5. Once you decide to become involved, after doing your research, work it like a business, because that's what it is. Dedicate the time and effort necessary to make it happen.

If you are careful and follow a few simple rules, you can create a nice source of income. Maybe one day it will even allow for you to "quit your day job."
